Canadian tourists need a PCR or a RT lamp test, which are not available in the family islands, to return home now from travel. i don't think there will be many canucks heading to the Bahamas this season. That sucks big time.
Used to come down every year for an extended stay to go fly fishing.( 6 weeks) Normally I would rent a boat with me and my fishing partners. But getting a guide because there is two of us in the boat is ludicrous. just a money grab as I see it. Not happening as I will not, nor will my partners, becoming back. Plenty of other places on this planet to fish for bones that actually want tourist fishermen. Its to bad as we leave a lot of cash down there.
I have been coming to the Bahamas for 5 years now. For 2 reasons. Fishing for Bones and sun. In that order. I stay for a long time, usually 6 weeks. Spend a lot of cash down there. But this will be my last, and my friends last also, I like to rent a boat with my fishing buddies( there is 6 of us with our wives) Now that is not an option, as I will not and cannot pay $400 dollars a day for a guide for the amount of days I like to fish. You can imagine the cash we leave down there, hell I think sometimes we keep Sands brewery running. It is so sad that those clowns could not figure it out when drafting sane fishing regs ,but not unexpected. There are plenty of other places to fish for bones on this planet with places that actually seem to want tourist fishermen. Most of all I will miss the great people I met down there. Too bad your government could not get it right.
