Whats so strange is our first leaders in independence were first generation Bahamians of Jamaican and Barbadian lineage .,backed by Jews and Italians out of New york that had lost their gambling interest in Cuba to Castro ..By the time Ping gave the bend or break speech about Grand bahama the Mob was doing so good in Vegas they didn,t need the Bahamas anymore but for offshore banking .

Truth be told and i,m not proud of it ,the British were better administrators then we are .Even w/ out computers and modern technology they ran the public corporations better The biilions of dollars that went through BTC in salaries and pensions and when we sold it it was running on an ancient platform that wasn,t compatible w/ anything .Now i think with BEC nobody will pay to buy it they would rather set up their own power generating equipment and sell us the power /For so long all our money goes to payroll and pension trying to absorb our prolific baby making and buy votes instead of equipment and infastructure ,,

Nobody can sue you and win if it is the truth ,and if they sue and lose they have to pay your legal fees . It is only libel or slander if it is untrue and causes the Bank to suffer financial or harms their " good will " b/c of your comments ..

Tals how can you have a fair tribunal or investigation into the detention center incident w/ out the alleged victims ??

concernedcitizen says...

You brought up the Cubans in your first sentence of the first post on this article,,,,,,,,,i know its a sore spot w / you yellow shirts , One question TALS ,how can you have a fair and balanced investigation w/ the alleged victims back in a communist country where they can,t have a say ??., and as much as Castro dislikes Ramon Sanchez there is no way he will let the alleged victims get near a phone w/ a camera ..lol You can not convict the marines of anything ,b/c even in a military tribunal the accused has the right to face his accusers .

WE are going to follow in the footsteps of others in our region ,Haiti and Jamaica ,..We will continue making more babies then our GDP can absorb and cry to the Government to solve crime and produce jobs for anti social offspring .When the norm is single mother of 5 for 4 different daddies there is not a lot of hope .Looking at the countries w/ the lowest crime rates and best standard of living ,Norway ,sweden etc ..they have on average 2 children per couple ..

thank God we gave the airport away to the Canadians or it would still be a filthy hell hole w/ Bradley Roberts controlled outlets serving slop for food .@Rory you go on about ,the dirty montague ramp ,the hospital ,the politicians etc ..I,ll do you one better we as Bahamians can,t do it and everything we run rapidly slides into a third world abyss ..I have been to the immigration dept 3 times in 3 months and seen the same KFC box in the stairwell corner all summer .AS much as it hurts my pride the more things we privatize and get foriegner firms to the run the better ,Hotels ,btc, bec ,Bahamasair if anyone will take it ,,and just turn ZNS off and save the money .Our biggest blessing was Castro taking CUBA and when the U/S embargo ends are slide into ghettos and poverty will increase.
