On the Family Island I live on I stopped at the bus stop yesterday to throw some trash from my car in the garbage can there .We have no bus service here and the stops are mostly used by school children waiting on the school bus .They are stops w a roof and a bench and about 3 foot high sides .I could not believe the amount of trash in the little structure w an empty garbage can 4 ft away .Weeny cans , chip bags , juice pouches , soda cans ,,all strewn over the floor and under the bench ..I,m nearing my sixties ,,we are going backward as a people .

In our country we are trained from childhood to solve conflict with physical force ..Please don,t insult me and say the problem is we don,t whup kids anymore , we whip the snot out of them .I see it daily ,,usually the parent yelling at them first , "if you don stop that I ga cut ya ass " and then the angry parent inflicting some form of physical abuse . How come the countries where hitting a child is outlawed , the Nordic countries , have the lowest violent crime levels and homicide rate ..We have a homicide rate like a war zone , and no @john it is not the U S fault or the CIA ..We are beating the snot out of kids under the guise of spare the rod and creating an ever more violent society that solves even minor conflicts w physical force

@madhatter ..what you say makes no sense , the letter grades go with a numerical value you get on a test ie , an A equals btw 100 % and 87% ,,B is 87% to ,,and so on ,,its been a long time since I have been in school so I don,t remember the exact brackets and we have dumbed everything down ,,70% used to be a pass ,,I think now they have it down to 50%, so a lot of children have to get a very low numerical score to pull the average to a D.Truth be told we went to Bahamianization in education too fast , and when we couldn,t get enough college educated Bahamian teachers we made COB to produce them .,

And you probably think that w Trump and the small governments deregulate republicans the deficit is going down.Trump is running trillion dollar deicitsf in a good economy .The last time the deficits were that high was when Bush had to do Tarp and Obama did the recovery act to stave off a depression .Percentages wise their hero Reagan added the most to the debt , but at least some of his tax cuts went to the middle and lower class and he broke the Russians by out spending them .All of Trumps tax cuts went to the wealthy and that baloney about tax cuts paying for themselves never happens.After getting out of the recession Obama was running 500 billion dollar deficits ,,Trump in a good economy is running trillion dollar deficits ,,look up in the last 70 years who put more on the U S tax ,,tax and spend democrats or cut taxes for the rich and spend republicans

Actually M Scott has fought the unions and btw 2007 and 2012 got us out of a lot very expensive deadwood on the hotel corporation books .In all reality the hotel corp was created to reward cronies and friends , because you can not just write checks to your friends ,family and lovers from the treasury , the opposition through PAC sees what goes in and out of the treasury , so you make up corporations like the Hotel corp , The Development Bank , BOB , Carnival to loot the treasury .

I love how he gets under your skin .Your right it was the PLP that legalized the numbers , ie money sucking casinos , and their two other great feats they also spent 20 million to bring a Trinidadian here for a carnival lol and looted BOB .The looting of banks goes way back to the Peoples penny saving bank and The Development bank .You can,t just loot the treasury the opposition gets to see those books , so you make things like the development bank ,the hotel corporation , BOB or Carinval to enrich you and your friends .

A lot of the over run was doing the water mains ..Your talking 100 million at least we know it went on the roads ..The PLP put 2 billion on the debt while they were the first government to have VAT revenue ..Name one major project they did btw 2012 and 2017 ..During a recession I ngraham did the roads , the airport , the new port ,dredge the harbor , s pend 200 million on defence force boats,,and only put a billion on the debt ..When the PLP came to power they made a committee to oversea the boats Ingraham already bought so their buddies could crave up 30 million .Then when the PLP bought ATR planes for Bahamsair they did not buy the from ATR direct but through some shady broker in south America so they could get kickbacks .Why the hell do you buy planes built in france by a French company from some shady distributer you set up in South America ,,Birdie I can do this all day ..

The PLP put 2 billion on the debt with out one major or minor infrastructure project unless you call 500million walking out the Front door of BOB an infrastructure project , , Damm Miller got 20 odd million and what did we get as a taxpayer when he wouldn,t pay back the loan ,,a bowling alley worth a million and a half at best ..The FNM is not perfect but I will take them 10 ways to Sunday over the PLP ..And to bring that old racist , uncle tom talk ,,all the PLP has to do for people like you is to shout "whitey is bad " as they rob the treasury and future generations of Bahamians blind
