BFMI and MMI are two seperate entities. I would not assume that because BFMI may be in debt that MMI is also.

The reality is that commercial airlines ask you to turn off all devices because they want your undivided attention during those critical parts of flight. Not because it affects the airplane.

We in this country have a habit for throwing the baby out with the bath water. Why in God's green earth would we not seek to maximize FDI? If our people are not suitably prepared to take advantage of the FDI, then fix that. Surly, if we are not prepared to support the developments, it is an even bigger task to prepare us to create the developments ourselves. So, should we all become modern day pirates instead? Give ourselves even more excuses to engage in crime? I hope he is not speaking for Cabinet or all is lost.

sad that our people don't know the difference between a referendum and a nonbinding opinion poll (even an overly expensive one)

The real issue is the cost of living ... but this requires major adjustments to our tax regime/govt spending .... productivity is another major issue

Truly unfortunate that our people jump to conclusions about how a payment is made and whether the debtor was in a position to pay it prior. It is also even more unfortunate that we accept history as reported by an outsider as gospel rather than determine the facts for ourselves

For a professed critical thinker, you sure swallowed all of Mr. Ingraham's koolaid. Did Mr. Ingraham really rescue The Bahamas' reputation or did Uncle Sam get its way and withdraw the propaganda? Any critical thinker will know that The Bahamas was a political tool in the US' drug program. Ask Oliver North. Never allow what you hear dissuade you of what you know. That is not to say that there was no one in The Bahamas facilitating the
'trade". You will also know that the loyal opposition probably had more of its members utilizing their private offices to facilitate the "trade" than the public offices that were involved. If I were the government and the Opposition still controlled the airway monopoly, I would liberalize it as well. As for CBL, oh, I forget you'll only count taking money as corruption.
There are no perfect leaders, Sir Lynden, Mr. Ingraham and Mr. Christie all had their share of failings. Mr. Ingraham's legacy is infrustructure, Sir Lynden's is institutions, Mr. Christie is still working on his own.
IF you want to solve the issues you raise in your opening paragraph (which I agree need solving) you must start with intellectual honesty.

“With every passing day, Bahamians throughout our archipelago are becoming painfully aware that the PLP and FNM are two sides of the same coin. They both believe in maintaining the status quo and a false system of real choice even while our people become more and more disenfranchised,” Mr McCartney said. Could not have said it better.
