Does any politician understand what the purpose of a National Development Plan is for? Politicians by nature are egotistical self serving bastards ........... Nation builders are more interested in forward planning ............ do we have any nation builders??????

An 18 year old man ..... burglar, rapist, gun toter ............... this is SAD. Who failed him??????????

When you look at the situation like that, it should send the law abiding citizens a clear message

Yes we have a fascinating society ............ everytime we are about to honour a "great Bahamian" we discover that this person had some extra-territorial roots and then we realize that we are really a motley bunch of immigrants from all over the region ....... the Bahamas is a classic melting pot of the Caribbean ........ we are a perfect study in ethnic integration. That is why there are so many diverse views because there are so many competing interests among us ......... not just island roots but extra-territorial interests.

For example: Pindling had a Jamaican father, Maynard had a Bajan father, Arthur Foulkes had a Haitian mother, and on and on ............. no other caricom country has that diversity of family roots among its founding national leaders. When you add other influential leaders like RM Bailey, Mabel Walker, etc coming here and making major contributions to our nation then we understand how fortunate this country is ......... we must remain an inclusive society.

A classic time-worn, knee-jerk reaction. This used to wiork before social media and smart phones ......... and greed took over our society.
Is this why the government is training so many police?????? Saturation only works if police are not corrupt. Police are better educated, trained and paid ............ but crime is getting worse.

Ten thousand policeman ........ with many willing to take bribes, sex and gifts from criminals and citizens will not ensure a law abiding society.

In my humble opinion.............. the government and the private sector are deliberately setting this VAT thing up to be a failure to PROVE to the IMF/S&P/Moodys etc that VAT cannot work in The Bahamas despite their insistance on "tax reform".

Whether we like it or not the Bahamian politicians will find a way to "out-slick" the IMF fellas.

Bahamians do not like to change ............ this is classic passive-active resistance at the national level.

The Port owners are millionnaire foreigners. Their Bahamian minions are also enjoying the spoils, but the wider GB population is not. The Government must ensure that the wider population is enjoying a better standard of living.
The question to ask is: what would the GB have looked like without the GBPA? East End? West End? Eight Mile Rock? Freeport is not growing but the rest of GB is not either ............. thats the government's responsibility.

Just look at the USA, Canada and the EU welfare and health systems and imagine The Bahamas going down that same road ................. catastrophic economic consequences for a debt-ridden government.

Sooooooooo, if the Judiciary is the problem....... FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have the Laws in place?????? We have the Executive functioning?????? FIX IT!!!!!!!!!

Thats a good idea........... but what do you mean by "buy back"? That will be an interesting conversation ....... look at Bahamar and the road cost.
