The issue I have with this is we are not talking ownership. Once again we are talking jobs. What do the Bahamian people stand to gain from this other than jobs? Was the prospect of owning apart of this company ever discussed? Is ownership only for the few and wealth not not distributed equally? What does the government stand to gain from this? Are we moving to a level where the electrical company will be able to purchase cheaper oil hence a reduction to the Bahamian household? Are we moving toward an economy where tertiary education becomes free for every Bahamian that has qualified for it.
What they should do over the next 3 years is shutting down operations and allow sky to grow. whomever is rounding that pentionable period let them go home early and whoever sky decides to absorb into their operation they do so. I am sure if Bahamas Air were to dissolve Mr. Butler would be able to grow his business and put the airline business back in the hands of the private sector.
