No sir i am not but as a bahamian being policed by bahamian laws and constitution i make it a point to familiarize myself with laws and procedures. I suggest you do the same?
This article is laughable because as I stated this incident seems to be procedurally correct. Thank you for responding but its clear that when people do not know force policy they can easily make biased and uninformed statements like these. Its unfortunate things were not explained in full detail or to his understanding but oh well
I will only be commenting on the policing aspect of this article as it is blatant irresponsible journalism and very biased. Firstly it is well understood that a police officer is never off duty but honestly speaking after working a full day sometimes over time are they not allowed time to themselves or with their families? Put yourself in their shoes. If you take your wife and children for an outing woyld you want to be bombarded with questions and conversation relating to the already draining day you had at work? The grey and contraversial saying that a police is never off duty is often abused and used to favor an argument as its being done in this article. We must realize as humans we all need a break we all want to spend un work related time with our families. As humans everyone deserves that respect. Secondly. There was clearly a misunderstanding or lack of clear explanation. What you may have found stunning and unbelievable is actually police policy which you may not be knowledgeable of which again makes this irresponsible journalism. A written statement of complaint cannot be taken via telephone. Only initial information. Which was why you were directed to your nearest new providence station to give a statement which you would've had to sign and would have been forwarded to long Island officers. But clearly you did not take this into account. I emplore you to, prior to your next damning and descriptive article to fully understand the situation as this article is somewhat emotion driven. Its unfortunate that you had a seemingly unpleasant although procedurally correct experience but your harsh judgment and damnation is a bit extreme.
