Why is the Government concentrating only on Nassau, wile Abaco is sinking with illegals. Bahamians must realize that Abaco has become a landing point for these people. Abaco has a very fragile economy that just can't support this illegal immigration problem much longer. They should've been on the ground in Abaco a long time ago,But this Government is always a Johnnie come lately.
It is so sad that the Trust chief retracted his words because he was speaking complete truth about the big picture. We in this country must stop taking these threats that comes mostly from selfish hypocritical Americans. Coming from an Island I can attest to this, there objective is to nickel and dime Bahamians at every given opportunity and when there strategy is rejected they threaten to boycott the Bahamas. These people even go to the extent of criticizing there own American friends for investing in our country or for disagreeing with there cheap tactics. The best word to describe these people is digusting. The same mentality they carry around the globe that is openly and sometimes fatally rejected is what they try to bring to our peaceful Islands. If it were up to me the Cruising permit fee should be $1,000 for sail boaters because you'll be lucky if they spend that after 1yr. of cruising in our beautiful country. When as Bahamians travel to the US we abide by there rules and we don't question the price of a car rental, we pay it. Remember Bahamians every time we bow down to this type of situation and retract what we really feel from within ourselves we are empowering these exploiters to take over. By god they must learn when your in Rome do as the Romans do. Mr. Carey as a Bahamian you've disappointed me for retracting your statements as they were factual. God bless 53rd state of the US the Bahamas.
This article is truly worthy to be on the front page but unfortunately Bahamians are more caught up in the killing in the so called wild wild west than there actual future. To the writer, I applaud you keep it up.
