Hoping the farmers in the Family Islands have the support from the agricultural officials to get their products to our large local markets intact and without excessive spoilage and to get paid on time. It is heart-breaking to read of the many challenges our farmers face in this regard. In my opinion, it is the Distribution Chain that is our weakest link. We, the consumers, lose out on fresh, homegrown products while the farmer faces discouragement despite his hard work. Let's fix this problem.
Yes, congrats on getting this system in place! I hope that it will continue even after this current crisis is resolved. This is the means to offer prime education to our children 24/7 in a format they readily comprehend while reducing the need to provide buildings and paraphernalia to persons near and far especially in distant Family Islands. The challenge is to produce effective, appealing Distance Learning for all the grade levels overseen by competent teachers. It seems as if these programmes are in good hands so far, making good use of technology, skills and knowledge. Results anxiously awaited but kudos on presenting a new paradigm shift!
Exactly what I was thinking. Return to the basics to ease back into the Tourism trade. Promote the clean and pristine environment amidst the allure of Mother Nature together with our true, true Bahamian culture and hospitality. We have to clean house and listen to what our visitors crave.
Chaos in GB yesterday and today with shipping schedule. It is a good idea overall but needs fine tuning. Does government realise there are only two major foodstores? The smaller outlets can't accommodate the thundering hordes of shoppers. People stood in Line for 5 hours yesterday just to get into the store. Social Distancing? What's that? Pushing, shoving and arguing was the way to do things. Then, after gaining entrance, shoppers proceeded to enjoy the outing, spending at least an hour moving around the store while the poor people outside tried to wait patiently, some in the sun as the lines stretched around the block. Fine tune the method and have someone to manage the system. I went home and sifted through the cuoboards!
