Get over it people, Dr. Minnis is the duly elected Prime Minister of the Bahamas. We have a parliamentary system of government..... what that means in layman's terms is he **"AIN'T"** going anywhere! Today's vote of confidence is a waste of time.
If the good Doc, whom I fully support, is doing such a bad job in your opinions, then by all means, meet him at the polls in 2022 and put your vote where your mouth is. Until then, let the man get on with trying to clean up 40 years of mess that has been left behind by successive governments!
***While there have been massive concerns with fiscal wastage and mismanagement across government-run agencies and ministries, why are the Bahamian people still carrying the burden?***
@Malcolm Strachan, the Bahamian people are carrying the burden because we love to bury our heads in the sand. We talk about wanting a well managed country but we are not serious! When our coworkers sit next to us and waste time for hours on social media instead of serving the public, or go on extended tea/lunch breaks or walk away with several pens that belong to the government, **we turn a blind eye**.
We don't call people out on dishonesty or speak up when we know things are not being done right. ****The general attitude is, as long as me and my family straight", then I really don't care,*** . Well as long as we don't speak out or take a stand in the little things, then the big things, will continue to haunt us and take us down the road of corruption.
If we took a stand against corruption and dishonesty in this country, then the two politicians would have not dared to do what they were recently accused of doing. And yes they were found not guilty, but every single Bahamian knows that there is some element of truth to those accusations. So, we will carry on, with our heads in the sand, while our country falls apart around us.
Sorry@ truism nope, we don't have an overwhelming majority of civic minded Bahamians in this country anymore. If this were 25 years ago, I would say yes, but based on my everyday interactions and what I see on social media, I would say NO!
Mr. Goudie, I couldn't agree with you more. I sometimes wonder if our people have lost their minds. We were barely holding on economically before Dorian and have fallen off after Dorian, yet unions are fighting for an extra $2 of pay.
I get it, things are tuff and every dollar helps but for goodness sake, can we not give the government 1 full term to put things in place and get the country in right standing before we start making all of these demands?
If you wouldn't buy a new car if you were overwhelmed with debt, then why should we make unreasonable financial demands on a broke government?
I agree with Mr. Sears on this! We have to stand up to these bullies. Not because we are small do we need to let these larger countries take advantage of us.

Agreed @sickened. We have some really deep issues in this country. Decades of problems that will not be resolved in 1 term.
