"**Senior doctors are typically expected to work about 20 hours a week, but Dr Munroe said in the last week 40 to 50 of them have worked on average about ten to 12 hours more.**"
Geez! I can't believe that I just read that! No words. So they went from 20 to about 32 hours and they are complaining? Meanwhile the Bahamian public gets the shaft. We really have some selfish people living among us! I guess the hospital patients are taking too much time away from their private practice. In fact, I can almost bet on any given week, these senior doctors are not putting in a full 20 hours anyway!
What an unbelievable bunch of people! Considering how close to the brink of financial ruin we are, given the crisis at BPL and many other government agencies, given the lack of basic supplies at PMH and the Rand Hospitals and the list goes on; are people still crying for the government to find money for their back to school supplies......geez. I see why we can't get better!
Shouldn't our collective response as a people be: we really need to get our country back on track, once our country is profitable and things are going well, we all will get a chance to do better. Oh well, so much for that type of thinking!
I dare any of you above, if you think you can do a better job fixing our country to take a shot at leadership, run for office! It's pretty annoying to read every day how the government needs to do this or the government needs to do that and this one is incompetent or the next one is incompetent.
For God's sake people, you **can not** fix 40 years worth of neglect, abuse and corruption in 2 years! I don't care who is elected, putting the Bahamas on a path of success, **will not** be achieved in 2 or even 5 years. What makes it even harder is our mindset as a people. We would rather argue and degrade people if they do not represent our party colors instead of doing our part in contributing to our country's success. We are our own worst enemies, all we do is complain and criticize.
My question about this wage discussion is this? If you are making $210 per week minus the deductions, why the **heck would you have 3 or 4 children......or even one for that matter?**
Come on my people, you are doing this to yourselves......and yinna wan get vex when former MP Richard Lightbourne told yinna to close your legs and use contraceptives.......geez man!!!!
Don't get me wrong, there should be an increase in the wage, but for crying out loud, stop having a pile a chirren and start making some sensible decisions!
.......and also because Bahamians are all talk and no action! They will say that they are going to invest in a generator or solar panels because they have had enough, but when its time to put their money where their mouth is, they hide in da bush!
