Another Union leader wasting the Bahamian people's time. Encourage your members to go do some work then maybe they would not have reason to believe that someone is recording their conversations!

And this Madam President is the reason, I believe, there needs to be a revamping of the shift system. there is no money to pay nurses overtime. Do you see how long it takes to pay overtime for one month? Do you think we can sustain this amount on a monthly basis? 40 hours per week with 2 days off, sounds reasonable to me, but what do I know?

Your members have every right to leave if they feel the working conditions are not right. The nurses can be replaced. I am sorry, but I have no sympathy for UNIONS or their membership. They are part of the reason why our country is in the state that we are in now. Unions in our country perpetuate a system of laziness and greed.

@BMW, thank you for your summation. I am not sure what is wrong with our people. It's good news for Grand Bahama and all some of us are doing is make it political. Can we please put politics aside so that we can move our country forward? We have been stuck in a rut for the past 10-15 years and I can' believe that we are still politicizing everything. I think Doctor Minnis and his team are doing what is right to turn the country around even in the face of so much criticism.

I am so happy for Grand Bahama. They been neglected for far too long. It's time that they are allowed to get back to work. I look forward to the economic boost that is expected along with this sale. Glad that the government will be getting it's 65 million dollars back. I noted that the hotel will be sold for 65 million.

Great job to Mr. Michael Scott and team!

Ok, let them not take the money being offered. Once that hotel is sold, they stand to gain much less.

@Dawes, they are paid for the overtime that they work. The Minister is just suggesting that the amount paid out each month can not be sustained. With the implementation of the 40 hour shift system, they would not have to pay overtime. The nurses do not want to work 40 hour per week because they would only get 2 days off. They can not moonlight when they have 2 days off. They want the 4 days off to work at other entities or private homes.

I don't know about the rest of you Tribune readers, but I don't believe it is wise to pay out $750,000 per month in overtime. Have these people lost your minds? How is that sustainable? Put those nurses on a shift system!! There is absolutely no way the public purse can keep up with that. If they don't like 40 hours a week with 2 days off, then they can look elsewhere. There are people in other places around the world who would be happy to work in that system.

We have allowed our country to be controlled by unions and their unreasonable demands. It's time that we look at our financial position with a view of getting our fiscal house in order, and that's all across the public service. If we are allowed to continue in this manner, we will definitely lose our country. We CAN NOT spend what we do not have!

Doc, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Get rid of all of those who have accumulated more than 15 weeks of vacation and are near retirement. We have let this situation get out of control. Even the US federal government agencies do it. Any vacation over a certain amount of leave must be taken before retirement. What is wrong with sending those people home? Why should we pay lump sums of money when these people retire?

The following statement however, made me laugh my head off: **Dr Minnis said: “Yeah number one needs number two, number two needs number three and three need the four, so what’s the big deal?”**Doc, man I know the press gets under your skin but you have to give them better answers than this. **lolololol**

What have we become? A nation of robbers and thieves with no respect for life or personal property. @John you ask a very valid question....... "so what now?"

My condolences to all who lost love ones in these tragic incidents.

**After finding out, of course we bombarded their office with phone calls, and still then no one has contacted us to tell us how a healthy 30-something-year-old man, who I spoke to a week before, how he died.**

I highly doubt that he was a ****healthy** 30- something year old. 30 something year olds do not just die. Say what you want about the prison system, they rarely have people die of suspicious causes.
