Apparently doing the right thing doesn't matter in this country anymore because we have governments who will continue to bail out Bahamians who make poor choices. I pay my light bill every month, and there are these slackers who refuse to pay it, yet their debt is forgiven. We will never be better as a people with this kind of thinking.
This government needs to spend funds to upkeep the buildings. However, too much money is being spent on vehicles. Look at all of the expensive vehicles the civil servants are driving! The average Bahamian cannot afford them.
Let's be clear. The government does not have money. They are using taxpayer's money to bail out these people. Why should I have to bear this burden? When you were collecting your dividends cheques, you didn't share it with me.
Cars in Nassau are too expensive! Case in point. Decided to purchase a 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid last year after driving the same car for 16 years. Went to the local Toyota dealership and they wanted $54,000 for a stripped down version. Able to land a 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid fully loaded for under $35,000.
