"Hong Kong-based Chow Tai Fook Enterprises (CTFE) ultimately acquired the property and said it would invest about $200 million to get the project's first phase ready for the general public." Please explain why I would spend $200 million for a property I do not own yet? Will this amount be deducted from the purchase price? What if I don't decide to purchase it after all, will I get a refund? From whom?
I admire these persons who are willing to stand up and make a difference for their country, without worrying about losing deposits. Willing to put country first and try to make a difference for our Bahamaland. God bless you all.
Also, why don't they change the law so that the nomination fee is not returned? The treasury always broke, so why can't it keep all of that money instead of refunding those who get a certain amount of votes, especially to mostly rich people, or people who will soon be rich.
What I would like to know is how so many people get time off to attend these nomination events. I know you need a certain amount of signatures, but don't these people work?
Bahamians are not trying to have it both ways. I am one who is against it, but since they are determined to go ahead with it anyway, at least try to be organized, stick to your advertised dates and stop confusing and driving away the FEW guests that do plan to attend.
