It's your bad imagination Trib. What we expect is for foreign investors to just send us bucket loads of money and f... off and not ask any questions or expect to ever see their money again. It's a s simple as that :P
I got a call from Commonwealth Bank just last week demanding to know why my mortgage was one month behind. A mortgage that carries an 8 3/4 % interest rate that has not budged whilst everyone else's interest rates in the world is getting a break. Real Property Tax going up. Insurance premiums going up. A healthy. hard-working man, denied the right to work for most of the year and it's supposed to be business as usual for everyone I owe money to. Makes you wonder why anyone would want to play this 'game' any more ?
Thank God that our media is starting to recognize that the fear-mongering that has been going on for the last few months has to come to an end. We need a bunch more of these stories, please. I do not really know what is going on in the world but when I see the emerging facts stating that 99% of people who are exposed to this virus walk away unscathed......but the same 99% of people all believe that they are going to die from the same virus....you have to wonder where the message got hijacked.....where the reality has gotten twisted. 99% survival rate but 99% of the people think it will kill them. Do you see how wrong everyone is about the actual risk to them? Statistically, over 99% of you are NOT going to die whether you catch the virus or not - whilst you give up all of your civil rights and economic independence? Fit healthy people begging the government to lock them (selves) down. It's madness. If China invaded this country and started locking us all down we would rise up and the brave would offer their lives to protect our freedom. But then again, a virus gets loose from China and we throw our freedom in the trash without a flinch
And at some point, our newspapers and other news sources have to take responsibility for all of the misinformation, the madness and undue suffering
I wonder what's going to happen when all of these people who have tested positive do not actually die. When it turns out that even for the old and vulnerable the death rate is actually only a fraction of a percent....and the rest of this drama is just the mainstream media fear-mongering. Do you think the average Bahamian is going to wake up and get pissed at the PM for exaggerating the fear so that he can play super hero...... or do you think they will all thank him for destroying our economy but saving them from the boogeyman ? The facts coming out now are statistically, someone of my age and health is more likely to get hit by bus than die of covid and am getting really tired of being treated like a farm animal that can't manage my own life without being penned up and force-fed a bunch of bull sh....
So money does just grow on trees. Remarkable. Makes you wonder why they needed to add 12% VAT to everything three times if they can just run the government on loans endlessly ??
Translation - somebody has probably pointed out to our noble Papa that they are breaking international law by discriminating against US commercial airlines. The PM may be a Doc but he sure as sh.. doesn't have a clue about laws or the constitution
What !!! They let a bunch of people go shopping for cheap and easy carona in Miami last weekend and now they brought it back for us all Papa Doc dont want us to share it ??? I am really starting to wonder if this man knows what is what ??
Please think about this. Papa Doc thinks we Bahamians cant be trusted to go to the beach for a solitary walk for one (1) hour on an island that has zero cases of COVID but made it OK for
"short-term travelers who left for seventy two (72) hours or less were not required to produce a negative RT-PCR test result and on their return to the country, many were not entered into the Hubbcat system that monitors people in quarantine"
and also please note that those travelers were most likely going to the biggest concentration of COVID cases in the world and walking around an indoor shopping mall with no masks on for three whole days.
Now the man is saying he was worried about the political fallout and worried about the constitution. You could not make this stuff up !!!!
Amen. The PM thought he was so clever scaring the pants off of everyone so they would do whatever he says ....... and now he has to deal with a population that would rather starve to death than risk 0.0something chance of dying from Covid
Force people to lock down their business and stop going to their job but insist that they keep paying their mortgage and light bill. We gonna save you from Covid but we cant save you from the debt collectors. Remind me to vote for these numbskulls again ........
