The sad thing with all this is that if the PLP let this restructuring take place, a whole bunch of unemployed, frustrated young Bahamian men would get jobs finishing off the hotel instead of imported Chinese peasants. Equals less crime and more employment which equals re-election points for the PLP. Problem is the leaders of the PLP are so God damn stupid, corrupt and greedy that they can't see anything but the next cash payout from CCA. And that is why the smart young PLP'ers are running for the exit. Perry stuffing his mattress full of cash while the house burning down.
The Chinese came here and made a commitment to build the project for half price if they were allowed to bring in cheap Chinese laborer's. They also made a commitment to finish the project on time so that Bahamians could finally benefit from the project. Well guess what. They didn't finish on time, the job cost double what it was supposed to and the quality of construction is pathetic.
The Chinese have given the Bahamas one great big new bungy hole and the PLP standing there with the Vaseline !!
Any judge that rules in the favor of the Chinese contractor is ruling against Bahamian construction workers. The Chinese Construction company does not hire Bahamians, it brings in thousands of Chinese to do Bahamians jobs. Why is the PLP taking the side of a foreign construction company that contributes nothing to the Bahamian economy. Lets throw them out for not doing what they were contracted to do and bring in a contractor to finish the job that will hire Bahamian workers. This is finally an opportunity for the PLP to create some jobs
If anyone is listening out there for Bahamar's public relations. You need to make the average Bahamian aware that the standard of construction performed by the Chinese is terrible and they should be fired. The easy fact of the matter is that Ismirlian has now recognized what a mistake it was to hire the Chinese to do the work. He now wants to fire the Chinese and hire Bahamians to finish the job. The PLP is doing everything they can to stop that from happening. Any Bahamian that wants the work should go down to Bahamar on Monday morning and let it be known that they would rather the Bahamian Government did not take the side of the Chinese construction workers. Think about it !!!!
I want to know why the FNM, DNA and these couple of PLP renegades can't get together to force a no-confidence vote on the ruling government ? Someone out there tell me please.
Perry sailing through the icebergs and his faithful crew playing the band. Is going to be interesting to see which one of them heads to the lifeboat first
rumor has it that the PLP plans on turning Bahamar in to a high class prison in case the people of this wee country ever get the gumption to lock them up for theif
The guy borrowed 2 billion from a china state owned bank to pay a china state owned construction company, lets them do whatever they want for three years and decides to get in a pissing match now ! There have been some stupid developers wash up in the Bahamas but Iz'y really does take the cake. I just hope the Chinese understand what kind of circus it will become if the PLP get their hands in the pie.
Hey ! The good news is that so long as Bahamar don't open, BEC will have enough capacity to supply the rest of New Providence with electricity. Another fine example of PLP working for the people
