If movie prices are not price controlled what will he investigate? I don't know if the new price reflects only his increased costs or he decided to also increase the profit margin in the process. In any case only an idiot would truly believe that VAT would not bring inflation. The blame game has began
Exactly, if I am paying either for gratuity or tax I should know what am I paying for. And what happens if someone else decides tomorrow that he is not ready for VAT?
Come on now, according to the MOF "experts" there will be minimal or no inflation because of VAT. What financial sector shrinkage? You did not hear the news about Ryan's new job? As for the drop in tourism, don't worry. Perry has already talked to Cubans about "multi destination" tourism. Yes the Cubans would love to share their tourists with us.
Cuba may have massive economic impact,no kidding. So put more taxes on locals and tourists,so you make an expensive destination even more expensive. This is how you run a country.......to the ground.
Once again PC is playing with the feelings of the Bahamian people. He knows very well he can't do anything about it,and most likely he does not care either. On top of that he ensured that next year the Bahamian people will pay more taxes whether they have a job or not.
The PLP has perfected the "art" of exploiting the vulnerable, buying votes, and renting crowds. Although I don't know if Fred's allegations are correct, why is he so upset? Perhaps he truly believes that these methods are the exclusive right of his party.
After being publicly humiliated by his own backbenchers, I guess there is nothing else for him to do than laugh and try to play down the incidents. The sad reality must be that nobody listens to him anymore.
I never said that sending civil servants home was the answer. I said that may be no other choice if the government has no revenue. Also I never said that the FNM was better a collecting outstanding taxes. I said governments (FNM and PLP). And what is wrong with the "old idea" of collecting outstanding taxes? Maybe if everyone was paying we would not be in this mess. And yes I do have a problem when governments (PLP andFNM) waste taxpayers money.
