So this president of the nurses union does not think that the nursing care provided by her members who work in the public health care sector is good enough for those members? Okay, no surprises here, the leader of the opposition seemed to have felt the same way.

Bahamian businesses must become very reluctant to hire any Bahamian workers because it will probably cost a huge amount of money to terminate them even if they engage in egregious behavior. The future of employment in this country will be subcontracting and employment under contract for fixed periods of time. This is the only way open to businesses that wish to remain viable. The Industrial Tribunals seem to generally favor the claims of employees over the employer. The only other option is to have a limited company with a small amount of assets that can declare insolvency.

Hey FrustratingBustyman, You have totally missed the point. As a member of the eua the UK had no choice but to follow it's laws. Brexit and Sweden are simply not germane to this discussion.

Peter Young used to write a column that was balanced and sometimes even informative. This has changed over the last year or two. His inference that the Labour Party in the UK is somehow responsible for migration from EU countries seems to ignore the fact that the Conservative Party brought the country into the EU and the Labour government had no choice but to follow the EU laws that Tories had signed up for. Disingenuous to say the least. The repetition of President Trump's fake news about Republican members being attacked by BLM supporters is just sad and perhaps even shameful for an ex diplomat who should have gained experience sifting truth from other in his distinguished career. Please do better, Mr. Young.

So this pastor bishop with his own private aircraft believes he was saved because he prayed to God. It makes me wonder why Miles did not do the same thing.

Gluttony is a sin that34.8% of Bahamians practice. Stop eating junk food, it will make you sick.

It is good that this challenge to our country's existence is now mainstream news. I have been concerned and talking about climate change for decades, and it is the reason why it was a mistake to allow the British to make us an independent country; we can no longer count on their support to relocate our citizenry when the inevitable happens and the Bahamas is no longer a viable place to sustain human life. In the short term we could learn some sea management lessons from the Dutch.
