How can The Rt. Hon Dr. H. Minnus not nominate? under our current laws, a 2 term prime minister gets a very , very large, large pension. Pls see Mrs. M. Pindling; (the pension is extended to a surviving spouse. while a one term does not get this very generous cut of our tax payers dollars. )
Are the gubmint’s plan to legalize weed. Are smokers’ votes just what they need? To win another four year term, Comin’ out the woodwork jus’ like worm? People catching politics like germ? And Rasta got a doob to burn.
The Gubmint’s death by a thousand cuts, A very brave act taking lots of guts. But from somewhere the money must be taken. If quangoes and freebies cannot be forsaken. All them political appointees have to be paid, Sitting in AC with no difference made. Trips away to far flung lands, Cannot be paid by military bands. Police and Defense can dance on Bay, All good fun ‘til the piper get pay, Then the ones who be calling the tune; Must hope the cruiseship arrivals continue to boom. Sigh.
Many years ago a corruption smeared cabinet decided to give their leader a very very generous pension, which his spouse would inherit upon his death, to encourage him to retire so that the country could move forward. We, the tax payers, have been saddled with it ever since. But, it only applies if the Prime minister serves two terms in office. And this is why the Rt. Hon. Dr. H. Minnis has no choice but to try and become the Prime Minister again. Why is the truth not taught in inour schools? Is it because the teachers don't actually know it?
It is sad that many people are afraid of growing old, and even more afraid of dying. Why be fearful? Do you really want to live forever? Why, is your life so sweet?
Three armed robberies every week, Shows that our Justice system is just too weak, To deter the predators that live amongst us. Them rude boys who live only to mock us. With the an AR15 Automatic gun. Robbing and killing is only fun; It’s sad that these were ever born, Our democracy's crown wears a bloody thorn. Crucified on political greed. Our courts are left in Justice need. The Church is also much to blame, For forcing births in Who Knows Name.
ThisIsSour makes undeniable points, as Sir Etienne wrote many time: "A people get the government that they deserve." This country got a D- gubmint that don't like statistics because statistics, them, involve numbers, and who wanna deal with all the rithmatamatics. Besides that; what form of government would recommend, Authoritarian Dictatorship? A communist workers paradise, also headed by an authoritarian dictator? The Swiss democratic model, but based on islands instead of cantons?
With regards to motorcyclists; the Bahamas suffers several score of traffic vehicle related deaths each year. A very small minority of these deaths involve motorcyclists and when they do it is most always the motorcycle rider, or pillion passenger, that is killed. It is so much better to suffer the occasional annoyance of a group of motorcyclists when compared to the insane driving that we have all witnessed by the motorists driving cars, buses, or trucks which actually sometimes kills people rather than just annoy them.
