So one of the best informed highest state employed workers has admitted that we are living in a war zone where police officers regularly are called upon to kill Bahamians. This is not good news for country that is hugely dependant on tourism. Prepare an exit strategy those who are able.

Hey Enginesneer, Ever visited Bermuda? Closed mouth may catch no flies but closed mind stuck with outdated ideas.

ep, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas is effectively doomed as a viable country to live in. Our grandchildren will have to migrate. Between rising sea levels and hotter temperatures leading to more and more devastating hurricanes we will have no choice but to eave. The united Kingdom was smart enough to relinquish all responsibility for all our millions of Caribbean residents who were once British citizens, The genius of this action is that the Caribbean counties thought they were winning a great victory, remember all that PLP propaganda about how hard the then Linden Pindling had to fight to "win" our independence? In truth a country would have had to fight to stay British, Bernuda is smart, eh?

What a strange and incorrect statement you have posted, Geotorn. An invasion of privacy is an invasion of privacy, end of story. if you have something to hide is a different story entirely. Perhaps you were one of our students who were never taught logic.

At last the churches will be responsible for their actions. For too long they have operated with no accountability. Since pastors have sought an increasing political voice they should also be subject to the same taxes that other citizens and business entities are.

If they are using led lights then the design life is up to 50,00 hours compared to 5,000 for the traditional incandescent. So we should get 10 years in theory if they are properly handled and stored. And if BPL keep the electric cycles and voltage in the normal range, I have installed led that have been lit every nightand all night for almost ten years now so it is possible.

While we can applaud this apparent financial success it would be more reassuring to get the figures on the other side of the balance sheet. Cost of production, sorting, packing, shipping , storage and marketing. The cost of the labour involved including that unfunded pension elephant sitting in the corner of the room. I will be very surprised if this scheme is anywhere close to being economically viable without heavy government subsidies. Still it is possibly a small step in right direction even if it is not the politically touted huge success and answer to the problem of our almost complete lack of food sovereignty and security.

Pastors of some churches seem like they want to get involved in politics, OK but the we need to start taxing them like every business in the country. No more duty free concessions for churches.

Hey Sleeprunner12, What are you trying to say, start out what? Do you have a problem with private schools offering scholarships? Why? You scared someone gonna get ahead? I am vert grateful for the scholarships that my children received. One them gets her doctorate next month and that probably would not have happened without scholarship help. Please private schools keep offering scholarships to help advance deserving Bahamians academically.

And as for Mr. M Evans comments about Einstein being a believer in God, This headline from today " Albert Einstein’s so-called “God Letter,” in which the theoretical physicist called belief in God a “product of human weakness,” smashed predictions and sold for a massive $2.9 million."
Bit of a credibility gap in this letter somewhere. Perhaps a yawning chasm might be more accurate.
