Pastors of some churches seem like they want to get involved in politics, OK but the we need to start taxing them like every business in the country. No more duty free concessions for churches.

Hey Sleeprunner12, What are you trying to say, start out what? Do you have a problem with private schools offering scholarships? Why? You scared someone gonna get ahead? I am vert grateful for the scholarships that my children received. One them gets her doctorate next month and that probably would not have happened without scholarship help. Please private schools keep offering scholarships to help advance deserving Bahamians academically.

And as for Mr. M Evans comments about Einstein being a believer in God, This headline from today " Albert Einstein’s so-called “God Letter,” in which the theoretical physicist called belief in God a “product of human weakness,” smashed predictions and sold for a massive $2.9 million."
Bit of a credibility gap in this letter somewhere. Perhaps a yawning chasm might be more accurate.

Why not have the "6 or so A-grade socially elite private schools" as a model to follow? Based on their results they are doing things correctly to achieve high academic standards. I understand your implied point that the home environment is a key factor but thinking that the school environment is irrelevant is a mistake and such thinking deserves a D-.

The ever verbose Mr. Evans writes " I believe science supports my position, as it also supports the Biblical view of creation in the Old Testament Book of Genesis". This statement is ridiculous and totally unsupported by even cursory research. As for the evidence that he provides to verify the story of the Resurrection that too is laughable at best. Mind you I am not discounting the Resurrection story merely Mr. Evans assertion that it must be certifiably true because some people wrote that they witnessed the event.

What a compliment this rather verbose letter writer has paid Chrissie Love. He compared her to two of the best comedians of the past half century. George Carlin used his genius cutting wit to lampoon all sorts of hypocrites including the Holier-than-thou corrupt leaders of some Christian churches, I suspect those particular monologues were what upset Mr. Evans. Mr. Prior was the other comparison made and again his comic genius is widely accepted.
I would not have used the same amount of profane language as Ms.. Love but I recognise that it is part of her stage character like Lenny Bruce she is pushing boundaries. I also agreed with her sentiments as expressed, just because you are dead your past actions are not changed, they are all still there writ bold in the Akashic Record. Stay strong, Chrissie.

This is good news as our elected State Officials are obeying the instruction of the judiciary. Anything else edges the country closer to totalitarianism.
