There is so much misinformation about. If Anthony
Pratt had spent as little as 60 seconds on Google he would have discovered that the poem that hhe quotes from is not by Khahil Gibran but instead was written by Max Ehrmann. There is too much laziness around.

This will be happening within 20 years as the sea levels rise. It will be fair comeback when our children are hunted through the bush with dogs like Loftus taught them to.

So much anger. I wonder if you have ever read the Autobiography Long Road to Freedom? I ask because of the handle that you have chosen does not suit your comments. Perhaps you do not read much, they say the best way to keep a secret in this country is to write it down. lol.

We are fortunate to have independent civil groups in this country that help to keep the government acting within the laws denoted by our constitution. Whether you support or oppose what the government is trying to do is not as important as keeping the actions of the government constitutional. Think PLP cabinet minister and political garbage cans; the legal system prevented further illegal actions of this elected state official. We need checks in the system to prevent abuse of power by those in power.

I think this is like The International House of Pancakes restaurants that they have in Florida only without the pancakes and it cost you more to go there.

This is an interesting question that has been raised. It is a complex problem with multiple causes, or so I believe. The Bahamas has adopted the Standard American Diet (SAD) of fast food and highly processed food. Junk food gives you what type of people? We are what we eat. Most children are born into a home which lacks the material resources to provide an advantageous start for a child. how many children are read too by their parent every single night at bed-time. Unlike the other Caribbean countries most mothers do not breast feed their babies, this can make about a 5% difference to their IQ, let alone their emotional stability and disease resistance. Nassau in particular, lacks available wide open green spaces with trees for children to play, exercise, and interact with others. Sitting by the roadside breathing in exhaust fumes from cars is just not good. Because narcotics are illegal and widely used, the urban areas are divided into gang turfs which provide a source of income and feed the power that the gangs have in communities. Children are conceived without much planning on the part of the parents who most often are in an unstable relationship. We live in a society where mothers must return to work soon after the birth of their babies who are then given into the care of strangers who are paid to care for them. This not good. Children learn primarily by example and they do not have good examples to follow. Like most other Western Democracies our governments have continuously borrowed and then spent more that they have collected in taxes , the day of reckoning is now here, we can no longer mortgage the future of our children and grandchildren to indulge in a lifestyle funded by borrowed government money. Civilizations have always risen and fallen, the crime wave that permeates the Bahamas may just be a symptom of the decline of the Western Democratic system, time will tell. It certainly seems like we are on a death spiral and I am starting to loose hope that our leaders can up with ant strategy to reverse the trend. If the USA declares a war on a powerful enemy then things will get ugly here very fast. I would start going to church if I really thought it could make any difference. In the meantime I have given my children as best I can the skills and knowledge to survive the times that 'I fear are soon coming.

Hey MadHater "I say send all the whites back to England and be done with it." no problem with this, but we then also need to send all the Greek Bahamians back to Greece, the Sino Bahamians back to China, the Indian Bahamians back to India, the Cuban Bahamians back to Cuba, or perhaps Spain, and of course the Afro Bahamians back to Africa. This will take a huge amount of stress off the Health and Education services as there would be no one left. Who is going to buy my tomatoes then?
