Not a correction but I wonder if you know anyone who has had to go through the process of getting a Haitian passport? I am reliably informed that it is a corruption filled bureaucratic nightmare of Kafkaesque proportions. It also requires a visit to Haiti and if she goes there then the chances of our wonderful hardworking Immigration Department officers ever letting her back into this country of her birth are slim to non-existent. Apart from that you have a great suggestion.

I keep hearing this ignorant statement that Bahamians fought for majority rule. The Bahamians could have had majority rule decades before 1968 if they had just voted for a black candidate but instead they took the five pound note and voted for a white candidate. There were no battles, no one fought, no one won a battle and no one lost a battle. The whole world got caught up in a civil rights movement giving majority rule in dozens upon dozens of countries, the Bahamas was just swept along with an inevitable rearrangement of the political power structure. It is still continuing which is why Scotland wants to split from the united Kingdom and Abaco wants to secede from the Bahamas. I wish them both every success and applaud their desire for independent government.

Most things in life can be looked at from an economic viewpoint. How much does a decision by the Privy Council cost our country? How much do we have to pay to this court each year? Now how much would the same adjudication cost if vested in the Caribbean Criminal Court? I suspect that we have a very valuable gift in the Privy Council as it may be the most respected and definitely the longest established Court of Appeal in Existence. Looking at the appallingly bbad decisions of previous elected state officials I fully expect that this baby will be thrown out with the proverbial bathwater of our previous colonialism. Can we hire a well qualified foreigner to fill this post of Director of Labour? Just asking as we might get someone who understands how private business works and what it needs to remain viable in an international global economy. I seem to remember Mr. Pinder saying we were all going to be rich because of our aragonite resources. Have not heard much from him lately on that subject, I wonder what has changed.

The PLP party was always full of crooks, . … .. …..
They stole our money and then cooked up the books. . . . .. ..
They flew first class all over the place, . . . . …..
If challenged at all, they would shout about race, . . . . ……
At election time they told lies on their foes, . . . . .. ..
back in the day in Freeport they hit with bad blows, . . . . ….
They were evil and stupid, corrupt as could be, . . . … .
You had to count up your spoons, if one came round for tea. , , , ,,
Now that we look at this war cabinet lot, . . . . ….
I heard that a leopard cannot change a spot.

"Many whites left " This is simply not true. More lies from Creeprunner. Some expats left but I can only think of one white Bahamian family who left because of the secession. Now if Creeprunner can post all these many white Bahamian names of families leaving then I will freely admit to being wrong. Since he will not because he cannot, Creeps should just keep quiet and stop posting lies.

People taking delight in the killing of this man, even if he is a criminal and deserved it, must be slightly disturbed. I am sorry for all concerned, not only this young man's family but also the police officer that was put in the position of having to kill someone.

Whether women employees flock to work at the low wage establishment because of exceptional maternity benefits or not, is of no concern. This is such a stupid statement from Ms. Burrows. Does she think the management of Super Value should have no concern for the ability of the company to continue to offer catastrophic health care? This is not government with a a seemingly bottomless well of money taken through taxes from the workers. I can only assume that Ms Burrows knows nothing about how private businesses work and she probably got a D- in mathematics at high school. She is well qualified to be a PLP cabinet minister though.

I think Richard Lightbourne already suggested that and it did not meet with universal approval from the illiterate electorate.
