To fund free health care in the Bahamas, of a standard to match that available in the UK, each and every Bahamian will have to find an additional $75 per month in taxes. Since we are a nation with such a high proportion of chronic obesity this figure, estimated on the back of an envelope, is probably much too low. Sugar should be simply banned completely, there is no reason to consume except transitory sensory pleasure and the health cost is devastating.
The taxman deserves every bit of bullying. He or she is a fiscal parasitic lackey secure in his or her government job living at the expense of every tax paying Bahamian. Constipated petty bureaucrats are the lowest form of social life, right alongside corrupt politicians and predatory pastors.
The country is very lucky to have such a brave advocate for freedom and Human rights. It takes real integrity to stand up for what is right when so many lesser minds are clamouring "Crucify him, Crucify him". Many of his vocal opponents have never done anything for the poor and meek amongst us. if the Christ child was reborn tomorrow it would probably be in s shanty town. So keep going to you church and feeling self-righteous but just examine yourself to ensure you are not acting as a hypocrite.
And what would you put in these empty returning cargo planes? And why not include the hundreds of cargo ships that return empty to Florida? The truth is that we have very little to export when compared to what we must import to feed ourselves. Island Seafoods and Beaver Street Properties came closest to working a viable import.export deal. And the less I comment on that deal the better.
