Reading all of this information is very confusing. How will we, as active fishermen, know what and when the license fee will be? Does this new regulation mean that only fly fishermen will be required to buy the license, and those fishing with traditional equipment will not? Next question... how does this touch ordinary anglers coming to enjoy a day of recreational fishing on a local charter boat? Will all visitors need to buy a license, or is it again, only fly fishermen? If so, this seem very unbalanced, and unfair to target only those fly-fishing. Most destinations require a license to fish, but there is no discrimination about the type of angling, making the fee reasonable for all. I think visiting anglers such as me, would be happy to buy a license, but it should apply to all.
When i add a daily license fee, and now your new VAT tax for lodging and food, my cost to fish the Bahamas has increased considerably. All of this negative information is sizzling on the fishing wires, and after reading your article it seems things are still unresolved. When will e get some solid information? Island Guy
