Shocking!! who would have seen this coming???? (Sarcasm).....Just confirmed yesterday?????? Such and old concept/story for anybody who has a clue......no questions up until now why people are getting paid for not doing anything?? Listen, I feel bad for anybody that loses their job, but getting paid since late June for nothing other than sitting at home....this is a disgrace and the Gov't who approved it is to blame. The joint Liquidators who allowed it to continue for so long after they were assigned, are a joke for just catching it and allowing the $10+million they "Found" to be used for this, not to mention, have to borrow/get approved more moneyy just to pay Melia (and the project) insurance money to stay open for people who are working, Yikes. How about paying vendors for services already provided and back pay for those (ExPats) who didn't get paid out of this "Bay Street" fund, be taken care of first.
While I realize this was offered to another organization (I respect this one or), I felt compelled to share the link and offer how off base this situation has become:
1- "Govt initiated the scenario, but finds it a chilling prospect" that come 11/2 it might get what it initiated. The whole situation was predicated o NOT wanting the US Bankrupcy to go through. Once that was decided in the US, The Bahamian judge (with support of the Gov't i"m sure) kicks the can down the road and only does half the job of assigning the liquidators, but doesnt take action themselves hoping thimgs get resolved an they don't actually have to act.
2- " The Gov;t took a gamble and hope the developement wouln't end up on the aution block"???? Is this University 101 or how we run a country?
3- "Christie seems concered the process is nearing the edge of the cliff" all i can say is LOL, really Mr. Prime Minister, so US bankrupcy now seems not so bad?
4- "The winding up process is two weeks away and the time for posturing is over"??? again, the original date has come and gone, why is everybody so suprised.....time for posturing was long ago passed.
5- PLEASE stop talking and referencing anything to do with the US bankrupcy! The Bahamas and Gov't were always against it (Right or wrong" got what was fought for and now has the matter at hand. The situation everybody finds themselves in, has nothing to do with the US courts.
Agreed wih "truepeople" alot said with nohing said!. "Chilling" ?????? Not sure what that means, as if this wans't expected or on the horizen? Lets be clear, this BS about eminent liquidation is so clearly about kicking the can down the road. The Judge was larthargic with this this, how to Legaldays keep changing.
