I spent some time on the Female Medical Ward at PMH many years ago and even then, the nurses were nasty to me. The kindest person to me was a nurse's aid who would change my sheets and bed pan, etc. because I could not move.
The nurse's aids are the ladies in the pink and white uniform.
I question if they still employ them at the hospital because it's what they do. The things the too-cute-to-do nurses won't. Were any of them on the ward to assist?
No patient should crying for help in a hospital that should be caring for the sick and dying.
The spoke in the FNM's wheel is the COI. COI may not win any seats in the next General Election, but they definitely will do some damage as far as pulling votes and I think it i will be more to the detriment of the FNM than the PLP.
Just look at the number of votes the COI got in this by-election. If they were cast for the FNM, the FNM would have won.
They have to find a way to get rid of the COI's upstart of a leader. His promises to poor Bahamians who are already looking for something for nothing in a bad economy is pulling lots of votes.
A thief is just an opportunist without a conscience. Why would anyone think because it is a charity, a thief would have a conscience and not rob it?
It's likely that someone who works or volunteers there saw the opportunity to steal the funds and took advantage of it knowing full well there was no security mechanism in place.
Lets hope they catch the perpetrators and put a better system in place for securing money.
Not only has he profited, but he's profited illegally without prosecution for years. Now he holds himself out to be some legit business person after allegedly funding a certain party to make his illegal business legal. And people hold him up like a Rockstar. Kinda reminds me of a certain celeb who put out a s*x tape to be famous and after achieving that goal expects people to forget it and act like they are a legit celeb who arose to fame on talent. Like that celeb, he has gotten what he wanted but everyone still knows how and why.
Why is it that everytime the PLP is in power, China is always on the radar and making deals? What is their fascination with China? Or has the Chinese figured out how to win them over? When are we going to stop selling our sovereignty for a meal? The US has already taken the fee up on visas, no doubt to stop some of us from even applying. At this rate we'll soon be banned completely.
This doesn't surprise me. He's clawed his way to the top of the business world on the backs of Bahamians too foolish to know better and he's lined the pockets of the politicians who enable him to have this kind of say.
Let me guess. They're going to amend the law to allow a game house owner to be in Cabinet because there is no way he's not going to settle for just being a regular old MP.
And there you have it folks... corruption at its finest. After all, money still talks and the other stuff just walks.
