I must have screamed all my lungs out last night. Giri Shaunae I am soooooo proud of. you!! Some things are just worth being a Bahamian for and this is one of them! Congratulations!!!
Well written and clearly from first-hand experience. It's good to see that persons in the public arena can appreciate the true meaning behind Mr. Lightbourn's comments and understand that they actually came from a place of wanting to help and not the so-called "racism" the politicians and pundits and trying to make it out to be.
“Also we believe if you have a steady job of, let’s say, at least five years, you pay taxes, you have no criminal records, and it is not an activity that Bahamians are interested to do, why deport these people?”
Tell me, how do you prove you have a steady job for 5 years if you entered the country illegally? Are you paying National Insurance which is a tax for those 5 years? If so, how can you qualify for a national insurance number without a work permit? If you got a work permit, how did you get it you cannot prove you entered the country legally?
Did this man think before he spoke? Why do the leaders of these illegals continue to encourage them to break the law or insist that we reward them for doing so?
I guess the whole idea is to break the law and migrate to ANY country that will take them no matter the cost. The mindset is mindboggling.
I couldn't agree more. They put a lot of stories out to get public reaction before making decisions. Case in point 2 sissies challenging the constitution through court to get married - note that you haven't heard a boo-squeak since.
If there is any "truth" to this latest saga at least we do indeed have a glimmer of hope. If the PLP changes leaders, I have no doubt they would be more attractive to the voting public afte that fiasco of a convention that the FNM had.
I agree. Public sentiment is with him. He's only said aloud what most of us have been thinking for years! Thanks for raising the national conscience, Mr. L.

I totally agree. They are determined to hold on to power even at the possible cost of the election. Idiots!
