I feel for you guys. If you look through all the papers in the Caribbean etc. Your PM is not handling this Covid well at all? There seems to be no good results with all these lockdowns.
Every other island allows full commerce by day with night curfew. In Jamaica you can enter the country with a test after applying online and be monitored by a Phone app. Why are them leaders not collaborating?
People are hurting, the system is strapped and people try this. Heartless... Well allegedly. In any event the whole operation seems to have cost more than stolen. Plus they will be piled up in one place and perhaps help to transmit Coro.,, Hmmmm The leaders of the vested entity should be fired for having slack systems in place.
Usual joker, blaming Visas and Haitians without visa. This is a new time. Economies grow by movement, intermingling, travel, investments, trade. Closing a countries borders is like locking your house and not going to work. No income.
I thought Haitians were the Genesis of all the issues in thenp Bahamas. Now we hear it's because people went to the US to worked and picked up bad habits from people who originated in Scotland. What rubbish.
Respect Sheeprunner. Good to see you are surviving Corro. You are correct. Speaking specifically of our geographical bandwidth we are all victims or beneficiaries of how we were born. I seems that the Covid measures in the Bahamas have been more drastic yet less effective. Statistics for example show almost as much cases as Jàmaica and more deaths, yet from what I read there is a severe clampdown in movement and commerce combined with agressive policemen. Why is this?
Leaders should be collaborating but ......... I pray for the Bahamas. It's gonna be tough because most other island are better prepared to handle this. 1. Most have a vibrant homegrown food program. Food importation in Jamaica and Trinidad for example is a matter of taste and choice but both places can feed themselves. 2. Remittance infrastructure. most islands are setup for Inflows. The Bahamas is the converse. Plus I suspect there is not a culture of Inflows. God Bless Bahamas.
