Come on guy. Let's praise the youth of the Caribbean, and congratulate the Bahamas for putting on a great show. Don't throw shade and leave poor Haiti alone.
I don't care what statistics you spout. Its folly to claim you cannot find a few hundred Bahamians to fill entry-level jobs, regardless of how bad the education system is alleged to be. I am Jamaican and I can tell you its simply a ploy to recruit workers from countries with weaker exchange rates, people who will accept less.
On the flip side, retirement for these guys is no punishment.
You make very great points. But why should Bahamians return home, whenthose who get entangled or get married to others, will ha e children who will be consided to be as jon Bahamian as a man who came on a midnight sloop?
Anyway the story is possible but seems implausible. So if he can make these claims, others can too. I am not a boater know nothing about itm but is it normal for people to set out on these type of one man expeditions? Why not have backup GPS? Redundancy would be normal if one is taking risks? just asking
Would not work, because the situation in some places are so desperate and opportunities non existent, your country would not survive the deluge of entrants.
I am aJamaican and have never smoked anything. You started smoking over 50 years ago in your community, yet somehow you try to make a link between Bob Marley staying in your country for a short while and Cocaine. Every country &has its issues and Bahamians need to stop blaming outsiders for every issue. Gor your information Jamaica is not the country where everyone smokes weed. In fact the majority have nothing to do withnit. Leave us out of your mixup.
I respect that. Maybe he is a fraud, maybe he will be sent away. Who knows. The main issue is civil servants should not take personal positions, but follow the law and treat people with respect.
