Has it occurred to you that if they are incarcerated and have communicable diseases it can be caught by the officers and spread. Plus the Bahamas like all civilized countries are signatories to how refugees should be treated. :)
Oldfort. There are 2 types, Those who came by boat, and those born to those who came by boat. Those who came by boat should be sent back forthwith. After medical checkup. However, those who have applied should be allowed to live in peace until their application is approved.
Come on my brother do not resort to insults, surely you know better. THERE are 2 issues. Resolve and capability. Jamaica has it's issues but people do go there believe it or not. Some years ago a few boats started poking up in Jamaica with a hundred here or there. They were fed clothed medicated and sent back.

The land is barren and spent. Even if it were not, still a bad deal. Haiti's problem is not location but administration. These desperate people want to live under any government but their own.

There is an issue of small craft transporting criminals between Haiti Jamaica and the Bahamas. But no big vessel can infiltrate like that.
