No, time for tough laws against the possession of illegal guns and the peddling of such weapons. Give life sentences for the illegal possession of guns and watch them give up their source/sources. Then pop the neck of anyone supplying illegal weapons in and to our country.
The same should apply to human trafficking.
As judge Judy says, no one should be rewarded for criminal activity. The people turning in guns for money don't have clean hands.
All I say to the Bahamian people is that we must never be duped again. One more five year term by that PLP crowd and you can kiss our country good bye.
Trust me, they have not gone away. They are still lurking in the shadows waiting to suck more blood from the Bahamian people. They don't care about the country; all they care about is enriching themselves, their families and friends, and their cronies.
Bahamians, wake up! Look at who all came crawling out of their political graves to show up at that event.
TR, I hear you. However, the Neo-colonialists--as seen in Africa, Asia, and the Americas--are worst than the colonialists. They were supposed to be our Brothers and Sisters!
Please, let's focus on the prevention side of health care. What is killing us in the Bahamas is unhealthy living (mainly eating and drinking) and a sedentary lifestyle. You are doing a good job providing us with information. But a lot more needs to be done. Leaders must do more than disseminate information; Leaders dare to lead!
Get the people eating right, get us up and moving--nationwide--and you will see a dramatic improvement in 5 years. Not only that, but we will have created a new culture around food in this country. I know it is hard to change. No one loves corn beef, rice, fried fish, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and crack conch more that me. I have learned to bake, broil, and steam!
My prayer is that God will heal the nation and give our leaders wisdom!
It is time that a comprehensive study is done on the havoc that this industry is wreaking on the communities across our beloved country. When you are preying on the poorest, the most struggling, the most vulnerable amongst us, you are contributing to the destruction of the social fabric of the country.
We need to get rid of all these reactionary politicians. This gentleman made so much more sense before he got into politics, when he was a social and political commentator.
Like I have said now several times, Bahamians need to wake up and realize who have their best interest at heart. If anyone seriously believe that these guys--those who make up this socially damaging industry--have the best interest of people of the country, families, and communities at heart, then they must be delusional. These guys are greedy, selfish, and don't give a hoot about the proper social development and of the country. They are contributing to a permanent underclass in the country, while enriching themselves at the expense of the poor, hungry, and unconscious masses.
Again, and as far as I am concerned, the government can tax them into oblivion. The only thing that I say is let's make sure everyone pay their fair share.

Plain and simple. When it comes to oil refineries, oil storage facilities, oil rigs (drilling for oil), you can either have paradise or paradise lost.
No sensible government would ever, ever agree to drilling in the clear blue-green waters of the Bahamas.
