... so killing a frog or snake equates to being a rapist or murderer? Really? Some people like their pets more than they like humans!

... thanks for clarity, I should have said prisoner, not inmate, but that distinction still does not answer the question!

I don't watch Hannity and you have to get used to the fact that adults can have points of view that differ from yours. You have your opinions and I am still constitutionally permitted to have mine. After all opinions are like noses, everybody has one!

... I read it, but I don't believe him! This sounds like a cover up!
I ask again why is one police picking up one meal for one inmate instead of 20, 30 or 50 meals as one would expect if the statement was true?

joeblow says...

True, but unfortunately Christian values are discretionary. They can be taught, but it is up to the individual to choose to apply them. The high esteem in which Bahamians were held was when we applied them. Our low estate is because of their abandonment!

... we are being taxed and the government borrows heavily., We just don't like politicians wasting the taxes they currently collect, fail to use them for the purposes they collect them for (like VAT) or misuse the monies they borrow!

We do not need to waste tax payer money funding a "ministry" for Grand Bahama!!

How could the police collect meals from a business that should have been closed due to lock down orders UNLESS they knew in advance that the business would be open?

Who is the owner of the business and what evidence is there that advance permission was given for this apparent violation of lock-down orders?

Lastly one would think that if orders were for inmates there would be one large order with one or two persons to pick up, not prison room service style food deliveries with multiple police officers picking up one or two orders only!!

This election is not about Joe Biden, but his VP. It is clear that he is declining mentally and will most likely be succeeded by his VP before the end of the first term, if by some miracle he were to win! His VP pick is too far left for serious consideration as a potential presidential pick to have centrist appeal to moderate Democrats. In all, Biden's efforts to secure the 13% black vote was at the price of possibly alienating a significantly larger percentage of centrist female and male Democratic voters. It is also unlikely Biden will get Bernie Saunders supporters to support him. This will have the effect of dividing the Democratic party and hurting Biden in the long run!

While we try to help those less fortunate it is also an important opportunity for Bahamians to learn how to think for themselves, accept some personal responsibility for their own lives and learn to plan and save for the future. Too many perpetuate the cycle of poverty or bring it upon themselves by not getting a proper education, having children too soon and spending what they make on trying to appear to be more successful than they are. More single young Bahamian women must use available contraceptive methods, some of which are freely given!
To achieve any degree of success takes planning, sacrifice and hard work, things many are not willing to do while they want to reap the rewards of those who have done so! Too many have an entitlement mentality!

If nothing else, COVID-19 has shown how many as individuals and as a country fail to prepare for adverse outcomes. Its nobody's fault but our collective own!
