... I'm not sure what purpose the bill serves because rape is notoriously difficult to prove under normal circumstances. Whenever a married woman decides to bring allegations its because the relationship is already over, so how can the court decide whether malice is involved or not? Will it cover women having nonconsensual sex with their husbands, or are we still under the mistaken belief that women can't commit rape? Any form of abuse within or outside of marriage has laws that can already be applied and if there is to be a marital rape law it should cover men too!

... I have serious concerns about Munroe! As far as that young man, well I guess he won't be committing anymore crimes!

... politics was supposed to be a form of national service, but it has devolved into a grandiose form of self service. We need term limits, with healthcare only while in office and no pensions for government ministers after their obligations end! The same ole people take turns every 5 years to suckle on the teat of the public treasury and the simpleminded keep voting for them!

... Minnis should never talk about healthcare, his incompetence was responsible for many deaths during a dengue outbreak when he was Minister of Health years ago and again during COVID! Minnis is into power, not public service. I wish he would just go away!

... just because people can have children doesn't mean they should! Just a sad state of affairs all around!

... wasn't Winder involved in the Baha Mar/ Sarkis debacle too?

joeblow says...

... how about an "anti hooking up with a stupid man bill"? Will probably have the same net effect!

joeblow says...

... we like to deal with the fruit of a problem, not the root of them!

joeblow says...

... people want things without understanding the responsibility that goes with it. The poor want to drive a BMW, but complain about the maintenance. People want a house but don't want to maintain their property, they want children and have no concept of what it takes to raise a responsible child with a good moral and work ethic. The seem to think it happens without effort if you just feed and clothe them. Raising children is hard and it it something God intended to be done by a responsible and capable **man and woman** in a loving environment! It is not possible to have a society of predominantly uneducated people, flippantly having children without a moral compass and not have these ongoing tragedies. You reap what you sow! That's true for individuals and for nations!

"Mr Davis also questioned the distribution of wealth in The Bahamas, urging citizens to ask, “Who truly benefits from the wealth of this nation?”

It takes money to make money and it takes money to win in politics. Davis knows that who really benefits are those who grease the pockets of politicians like himself. That is why in spite of a referendum against legalizing gambling, Davis's own party ignored the will of the Bahamian people and allowed a few to bleed the wealth of over the hill with get rich quick schemes. So the average Bahamian still doesn't understand that money is a tool to create wealth, not something you simply use to consume!
