The first idea is that the PM and Minister of Health should both resign. Their shortsightedness and lack of proper preparation and execution coupled with impromptu pronouncements created panic has caused this virus to spread unnecessarily. This means that they will be responsible for the loss of innocent Bahamian lives. They also refuse to acknowledge their incompetence in the progression of this disease!

Secondly, we need to lift these lockdowns and utilize the police and RBDF to maintain proper crowd control at grocery stores and other key businesses, banks etc. Grocery store and restaurant chains must be encouraged to implement home delivery services to keep segments of the economy active while finding ways to reduce congestion in stores.

It is idiotic to close medical clinics at this time. Many will not want to go to PMH for medical care when Covid cases are going there!

All laundromats must be shut down and the government has to find a way to test people BEFORE they become so sick that intervention cannot help them.

Lastly, we should ensure that if nothing else, the first recommendation is carried out!

Now a WHO expert is saying lockdowns may not be the best way to deal with this problem!

You are witnessing what happens when power is not balanced with wisdom and discretion!
Those who aspire to lead usually desire power but lack the other two, so their decisions cannot make sense to a rational mind!

It also helps to have a educated population that can understand and carry out simple instructions. I cannot disagree with arrests for breaking curfews in this specific situation!

Sands can't be serious. The government failed on multiple fronts. Blind Blake could have seen this virus coming from January 2020. They failed to prepare by ordering the supplies they needed at that time when there was no scarcity. To compound the problems they also destroyed the concept of social distancing when they repeatedly forced panic buying through their incompetent messaging! Most of the illness and deaths that will result is the governments fault!

repost:

i realize that we need to have an exam for any person who wants to become Prime Minister. No campaigning, being elected party leader or any of that nonsense. The person who scores the highest gets the job.

The questions should revolve around different scenarios and the first question could be something like:

If an infection is spread by person to person contact and you want to reduce spread you should:

a) do nothing

b) control the flow of crowds, practice social distancing and make policing more effective,

c) use government policies to make every come out their house at one time and bundle up together like its Junkanoo, or

d) make and then change rules everyday

We can expect covid-19 cases to start to pop up in grocery store employees, laundromats and take out eateries any day now because of the significant increase in the flow of customers! So sad, this was largely avoidable if panic hadn't been created.

… there is a direct correlation between the two!

*Progressive Liberal Party leader Philip “Brave” Davis raised concerns in the House of Assembly yesterday about how some people will get food during the lockdown.*

Glad he raised concerns, but he could write a check too instead of trying to score political points!
