… asymptomatic people should not be tested unless they have been exposed or have medical conditions that could cause more serious outcomes, but people **with** symptoms including fever are NOT being tested in some instances and simply being told to remain home in unmonitored self isolation. Who knows if they are standing next to you in a line at the grocery store! This is unconscionable!

So the Port Authority allowed Samaritans Purse to do the heavy lifting after Dorian, but they will do what for this virus??

I hope self isolation does not include driving around with friends and standing in a line outside the grocery store! Who monitors these self isolation cases anyway or is it strictly on an honor system? What about the use of ankle bracelets???

The real problem assessing numbers of cases is that people are calling the hotline reporting fevers and coughs and are being told to stay at home and self isolate. They are not being referred for testing. The numbers must be higher than reported!

… the lockdown is absolutely necessary. It is relatively clear that the 30 day lockdown is just for starters and will have to be extended as new cases arise. If people stay home they cannot get new infections. Those with mild to moderate symptoms will be better within 14 days or so and will have immunity against the virus. Those with more severe infections may have to be hospitalized. The idea is to keep severe infections to a minimum because of bed space etc. Without the budgets of larger countries, a lockdown is the low tech way to go!!

We need time for the virus to burn itself out WHILE we wait for the economies of larger countries to get back on their feet so people can travel again, because in spite of this blow, I don't see this country changing the way it does business anytime in the near future!!

… seems to me the most sensible thing to do is wash items at home one piece at a time if necessary. Its not like people have something else to do!

...God has been blessing us. That is why a person with virtually no education can get a job in a hotel making $500 weekly. The problem is the vast majority our people are consumers, not savers, planners or investors! Most people live paycheck to paycheck. This is a time for people to learn greater fiscal responsibility!

...and this is why the government should never be allowed to borrow funds from NIB for any purpose. When contributors have legitimate needs, the fund can be easily depleted!
