*PRIME Minister Dr Hubert Minnis defended his administration’s stalled pace on promised mandatory evacuation legislation, telling reporters yesterday that no one could have anticipated monster storm Hurricane Dorian.*

What a foolish statement! The whole purpose for mandatory evacuations based on forecasts is exactly because no one can anticipate how devastating a storm can be. Seems to me the focus should be on damage assessment and emergency responses.

I am mystified at the absolute stupidity of the driver risking their life to drive around to shoot video in such a dangerous storm and so close to the open waters. I guess they didn't realize a tidal surge or falling tree could have ended their joyride.

... depends on who you talk to. If a junior doctor then they will tow the union line, if someone more seasoned you may get a different perspective. The reality is that many agree that the quality of doctors has decreased since UWI opened its program in the Bahamas. Some older docs I have spoken too are not impressed with their skills. A degree does not magically confer competence they say!
