... this country and her people were very different just 40 short years ago. People were more trustworthy, honorable, hard working and sensible. As this country strayed from its moral foundations, we became more corrupt, self centered and morally undisciplined. Now we are reaping the fruit of abandoning the values we held in esteem, but will we learn?
... Bahamians, not only visitors, also deserve the best service for their hard earned money and to facilitate this, mandatory gratuities should be stopped. Every server should have to earn their tips and gratuities based on the service they give! Bahamians know how to take your money, but too many don't give good service!
Far more important than discussing the idea of becoming a "republic" is having term limits for politicians, including PM's. Nobody should be able to make a career out of suckling at the public purse. MP's should have higher salaries and should be able to serve two terms maximum, then retire without a pension. That would be national service.
Our country is worse off for having people in positions of influence and power for 20 years or more!
