The research is there. The problem is that grouper and snapper have incredibly long and complicated larval phases, and even supplying them with the food they require becomes a complicated endeavour. Add in the cost of bringing in the materials for an aquaculture facility, power outages and events such as hurricanes and it's an incredibly risky proposition. Fish raised like this would be far too expensive. A simple tilapia project might be feasible, but grouper will continue their march to oblivion if spawning sites are not protected.

If these dogs were so precious, why were they restricted to cages? Even if they hadn't been killed it would have been a sad life.

I would laugh if this wasn't so tragic

Mmmmm, the Bahamas' dinosaur mentality raises its ugly head again in an article about a programme congratulating itself on how "progressive" it is. By honouring the outdated and abhorrent notion that "the man is the head...and foundation of society" you are instilling in these young men that they are objectively better than half of Bahamians: mothers, sisters, aunts, workers, leaders. How's that supposed to play into your "humility"? I would wager that many of these kids are alive today due to concerted efforts of the females in their families. There's your foundation of society.

I agree with "well mudda", I've been to Cuba 3 times and Canadians and Europeans go there in droves for a tourist dollar that stretches far in a grateful, spectacular and welcoming country. Cuba has beaches, diving, mountains, waterfalls, nightlife...subpar dining but culture in spades. Far from the expensive vacation packages and surly, ungrateful staff that is the norm for many tourists here...plus our native petty theft, charming. Same for the D.R., Punta Cana is booming while we just sit here churning out hundreds and hundreds of illiterate high school "graduates"...what could possibly go wrong?

Crime is down, remember? This is merely "terminal projectile metal syndrome".
