The following is NOT right. My father’s family arrived Harbour Island in 1647. 377 years ago! My mother’s family arrived in 1785 as Loyalists. I am a Bahamian woman with Citizenship. I applied for my two American born children to be Bahamians before they were 18 years old. They were both declined. I applied again for both children. Our son was approved and my daughter was declined again. This is not right.this is not right! Foreigners BUY their citizenship in the Bahamas. Our friends have Bahamian passports for tax reasons, pay someone for their passport, and our Bahamian full blooded daughter has no citizenship!
I have experienced rude and difficult Bahamasair agents and flight attendants both in Nassau and Marsh Harbour. I just assumed that it was because I am a White lady… sad, but true. It should not be that way. Ms Lawrence hopefully Bahamasair leadership will try to improve our experience flying our nations airline.
nine months to open a small business account at RBC for an Abaco account. Could not be done in Abaco. Had to be done in Nassau. What a joke.
It took FOUR physical visits to JFK Drive Commercial Banking in Nassau, and over 100 e mails…( they don’t talk ), and NO ONE cared for the urgency to start our business. Shame on you RBC. The lack of service, pride and integrity starts at the top.Where IS the Bahamian RBC leadership? It is truly terrible.
I’m sorry to say, but working with RBC Trinidad is definitely the way to go.
So sorry for your experience recently…. Sad that Black Bahamians feel this way isn’t it?
I couldn’t get anyone to help me at CIBC Marathon Mall recently. A very nice, articulate employee pulled me aside, and said “ go to the Harbour Bay Branch, the manager there will help white people… she used to work at Sandy Port”
I hope that you return home again soon, and hopefully you won’t meet Ms Sands again. P s. Shephen is awesome!
My family arrived in Eleuthera in 1647 as an Eleutheran Adventurer from Bristol,England via Bermuda. Our daughter with an American father has been denied citizenship twice, once under 18 yrs and once over 18. 376 years of Bahamian family, still in the Bahamas and she cannot be a Bahamian under the current law. But…. a foreigner who spends enough money in the Bahamas can purchase citizenship. Thank you Mrs Maynard. This MUST change.

That is a seriously ugly tree!
What an embarrassment! It is a good thing that it is incomplete.
What a total waste of $25,000 ( probably more )

Hubert Ingraham created the monster.
There needs to be government incentive ( less taxes) and cooperation for the private sector to develop the blighted downtown area.
It could be so useful, beautiful and income producing.
