How many islands and cays have been sold to wealthy foreigners over the last 10 years? These islands and cays belong to the Bahamian people. I am particularly concerned with the extraordinary rate the Exuma islands and cays are being sold to the highest bidder. How can we sell away OUR beautiful Bahamian islands. Why not lease them? We need to take our islands back! How many islands do we still have left that are not foreign owned?

The Grammy award song "Who Let the Dogs Out" originated in Trinidad by a calypsonian in the 90s. It was not an original song by Bahamen unfortunately.

I don't believe however, that the name Junkanoo and Carnival should be quoted in the same sentence. Nowhere else in the world can you find our fabulous Junkanoo. Carnival on the other hand is synonymous with Trinidad and they are proud of their culture. We listen to their soca daily on the radio.

Can't we be proud of Rake n' Scrape and our fabulous Junkanoo. We are losing are culture and that defines our identity.

On Soca star to be paid $100k for Carnival

Leader of the Cuban Democracy Movement Ramon Sanchez, is a convicted felon that served 4 years in prison in The United States.

He has been disrupting things in the U.S. for years. He has blocked traffic in New York's Lincoln tunnel preventing drivers from traveling to and from New York City from New Jersey. He also in the past has sat on the MacArthur Causeway in Miami blocking drivers from going to Miami Beach from the mainland. We need to remind Americans what he has done to its citizens while protesting the U.S. repatriation of those Cubans that nearly made it to their shores.

Why has The Bahamas not hired an excellent P.R. Firm in the U.S. is beyond me. Why after all the lip service there still has not been any lawsuit in the tens of millions of dollars filed in a U.S. court for defamation is beyond me. Ignoring the bogus claims of the fake video clearly is not winning strategy. We need to act immediately to defend the good name of our country. This is poor leadership on the part of the government.

In the future, to avoid these allegations by Cuban Americans every few years, we need to make it a policy to have all Cubans deported back to Cuba within 48 hours. The longer you hold these unruly people the more damage is done to our reputation internationally. Surely Fred Mitchell can sign an agreement with the Cuban Government to accept their people back immediately rather than the Cuban government dragging their feet.

Are these so called Cubans really Cubans?? Watch the report CNN aired tonight showing other Spanish speaking illegal immigrants already living in Miami illegally trying to pass as Cuban. They are assisted with obtaining a fake Cuban birth certificate then allowed to stay in America because Cubans are really the only foreign nationals in the U.S. that are given the right to stay immediately and can apply for a green card within a year whereas everyone else typically has to wait 5 years if not married to a U.S. citizen.

The CNN report stated that many other non Cuban Hispanics are assisted by someone in Miami that gives them a fake Cuban birth certificate while still in Miami. The fake Cuban is then put on a raft with their fake birth certificate in tow so that when they are picked up by immigration officials, they will be allowed to stay because they are so called Cubans, even though many are from Venezuela, Colombian, Dominican etc. purporting to be Cubans.

We too, need to be careful we are not being duped. Check out the airing of the report on CNN.com and type it their search: Hispanic Nationals Pretending to be Cuban.
