I don't get it. . .when did private businesses are elected to "run" this nation? The people elected this government to "protect" them from business persons who will not realize that this country is not theirs and they too must follow the law like the rest of the masses! Private businesses are required to act as responsible citizens as well. . .not like that rogue company down the road is doing! That place will get "burned out" in its own country if they try such nonsense. . .or in any other regional country that it do business in! How come everybody is asked to be proud and protect their nation and the Bahamian is being "row out" because one rogue company is acting like it is the "law unto itself" in another man's country! Drastic times requires drastic measures by our government to cut this rotting blight from the body Bahamas! I cry shame on all you Bahamian here who think that our government is "retarded" because that rogue company forced it to take severe measures to "kill" a business cancer from out society! I think this government is still being "easy" with that group of persons at that hotel. . .i would cancel every work permit given in the country of bahamians who are unjustly dumped into the street while their countrymen are working in the bahamas!

This is the fitting outcome for poor and dumb HR decisions. . .if the employer will not cease their exploitation of workers, the government is duty bound to do so. . .that bunch of crap done by sandals is an international scandal. . .you cannot make jobs redundant and rehire a few days later. . .in order to get rid of a union that the privy council has already ruled is ligitimate! Any of you Bahamians here who will agree that an overseas company comes into your country and refuse to follow the running of your Supreme Court is not in the best interest of your nation! Sandal is acting like a rogue company. . .she must not be allowed to get away with her nonsense. . .and if the other companies in this nation "go along" with them and their poor hr practices and say nothing to correct her. . .then they all will get what the duck got. . .end of story. . .correct yourselves or the government must do you so to protect the people from poor employers practices!

I lived and work in the Eastern Caribbean for several years. . .they need us. . . we are their top brand name destination. . . why do you think they have 2 hotels here. . .bahamas is a house hold name globaly!

The same was said of the "opening" of the USSR after 70 of socialist government. . .the expected tourist boom had the whole of Europe and some other destination shaking in their boots! Decades later, the USSR still has not find its footing and become that competition for the rest of the region! It remained a "welfare minded" work force that could not find its place in an already growing tourist market. . .the USSR only became competition in crime!

Cuba now leads other nations in the region in "flesh tourist" market I am told. . .where other nations lead her in the professional tourist product! But Cuba's biggest problem will be it "native mind" that like USSR, cannot compete with those other nations that have decades of training ahead of them! I suspect that crime shall quickly over take its social empty spaces as a long poor people scramble for the little money that will trickle in after the borders are opened to the rest of the world! Let them close their place. . .this the Bahamas! How long do you think that building on cable beach will be vacant. . .not as long as patty lasted in the army so to speak!

How many overseas company (not shady ones out of lawyers offices) you see leaving the Bahamas. . .none. . .with other breaking down the door to get here! our national brand is world-wide. . .we sell. . .so sandals can carry its you know what. . .someone will be there before their plane land back in ja! then lets see who will open their arms to them. . .with the baggage they will carry from this "dirty" court fight that is coming!
