Our 55' mothership we use for Regattas and Junior Sailing programs was $224 per year to register, last week we are told $3700!! WTF!! you cannot be serious! Boycott the system until the brain fart fades away and get some sensible numbers for boat owners!!
As a solar installer here in Abaco, the delay in getting our customers Net Metering installed is beyond stupidity! Waiting 6 Months for approval for Net Metering since everything has to go through Nassau for approval!!! Stupid Stupid BPL and URCA!
Wind will NOT alone supply our demand, you will need Solar and Wind to provide the proper amount of power we are consuming, with the diesel back up as an option. Solar alone will not supply enough as wind alone will not supply enough steady power.
Fire everyone that called in sick and ban them from the public work sector for life. They do not understand the damage that is being done to our tourist sector because of the short sightedness of their actions.
Marvin, Putting ALL utilities underground would be a major improvement with service. As we contacted all the parties involved when we paved our roads in our small settlement, we were told it would cost too much. Then after one year a person from BTC asked who does trenching on our island. I asked why? They said they are ready to put all services underground! So why can the three big companys work together? bec btc Cable and do the job once properly? Our guesis that it would cut down on service calls and over time, (unions would not be happy). Makes too much sense on putting all services underground one time and for all! Let us move forward and plan for the future!
Wow that is great news, no how about covering the just recently finished Long Island Regatta at Salt Pond? Or did this wonderful newspaper just let this reporting of the Regatta go away? Get with the game plan and do some reporting on the only true Bahamian Sport we have which is Bahamian Sloop Sailing!!!!
