Point in blank, this is exactly why shanty town are/will be a serious problem if not dealt with. This will hopefully stop now, or we can wait until the next time when there could be casualties.
The Bahamas cannot become a shanty town developer. The Bahamas cannot absorb and take care of another country whose population is over 27 times ours, impossible. Shanty towns are breeding grounds for crime and lawlessness. They become a society within a society, rules, laws and hygiene.
Tourist don't and won't patronize the Potter's Cay area as long as that area remains dirty, unkempt, unpainted, and smells, the tourists looks at Potters Cay the same way as most Bahamians looks at shanty towns and the Bahamians that frequent under the bridge are shanty town dwellers who are immune to filth.
It is sad that our governments would allow outsiders, foreigners to come in our land and beach areas and cut us off from our beaches. Shame on the traitors, they should be hanged in shame like Saddam Hussein.
Ankle bracelets are nothing more than jewelry for criminals. In their present use, and the results shown up to now, they serve no purpose other than making a company rich at the expense of the Bahamian people.
Victimization pure and simple, it just goes to show that governments don't really care about nation building and the rules of law, take this dispute to the Supreme Court if he is not removed, the PLP are showing real cracks in their New Day term and are coming across as the same old thing.
