The writer should be glad this ain't a country where dogs and cats could be on the menu. There are countries today that still eat cats and dogs e.g. China, Switzerland, Nigeria, Vietnam, South Korea, and more. So eating raccoons has nothing to do with being inhumane, perhaps they are just hungry and broke.
Bahamians, our politicians tell us things like we have body cameras in place and are using them just to keep us quiet and feel like they care, but the reality is they are most likely not using them at all and just pretending to do so, so we will never see any footage of this. Ever.
When history records itself it will show that all of our PM's will be guilty of the Bahamians losing the Bahamas to foreigners mainly Haitians in the next 50 years.
One of the highest institutions of the land is the judiciary (courts) which sets out punishment for those breaking the law and they (courts) are not allowed to throw persons to the ground and kick them in their heads no matter what they did, the police are supposed to be peace officers, not judges, prosecutor and juror all in one, they are not there to met-out justice on anyone no matter what they did, that is the JOB for the courts and the courts' ONLY.
If any parent/s goes to any school campus to attack persons there be it the custodian to the principal, that parent/s should be charged with assault and at minimum be locked up and spend a few hours in the cell, to show them (parent/s) their actions will not be tolerated and show their children that the system will not be playing games with the parent/s and their rude illiterate children.
Going into the shanty towns, you will definitely find the missing illegals and many more. This goes to show that our national surveillance is deplorable. Anyone could easily sneak into the capital and take over, we are so unable to protect our country and only thanks to the US because without them we would have already been overthrown and belonged to Haiti. Still, it isn't long now because in the next 50 years that will be the case.
What kind of third-world stuff is this where mothers must return to work so shortly after having a baby? What kind of labor laws allows this? Doctors recommend mothers should spend no less than 6 months exclusively breastfeeding their babies so they should not be working during this time. A terrible and very sad unfortunate situation.
