The government is treating the symptoms and not the underlying illness.
The attack by the government should be on what is causing the massive layoffs in the country not to punish businesses that are reacting to the cause.
Simple economics.
The crime is chasing off foreign visitors.
Less visitors less need for employees.
If you don't cut back on employees when there is no need for them you go out of business.
Crime is the problem not the businesses reacting to the end result of the crime.
There must be a overwhelming and relentless campaign on social restructuring and crime remediation.
Reinvigorateing the capitalist drive over the pitfalls of socialism would go a long way to resolving the nations woes.
Zero tolerance to all crime and reinstatement of the death penalty for murder would send a clear message to the people with low moral chacter.

The Bahamas needs to get serious about crime. Time to reinstate the death penalty for murder. Make room in the prisons for lower level criminals.
