Some people just talk to hear themselves. Why is Hanna-Martin even opening her mouth? The Minister already said that he has already moved on dealing with it. If the Minister doesn't do anything then speak. Guess she just trying to push herself in the spotlight.

Think Jonathan Nelson said it best, "so long, bye bye."

*“A significant amount of our police resources went towards fighting COVID,” he said. “A significant amount of our Defence Force officers went to wars fighting COVID so those are officers you had to pull from the day-to-day management of crime to deal with this unexpected issue.*

I guess this is right here what my parents always tried to warn me not to do. If your friends jump off the bridge, you don't be a fool and follow behind them. Seems the Minister follows talking fool just like the COP.

What I want to know though is that police suppose to fight crime. How were the police out fighting COVID? Didn't know COVID was a person fo the police to fight.

The stupidity of our leaders is just stupendous.

Excellent edittorial!!!!

So the COP supposedly apologises. I say supposedly because he seeks to blame his answer on the journalist? Really. How low can you go?

I give him credit for at least having the wherewithal to at least say apologise for the statement. But trying to pass it off on the journalist question. That is just WEAK!

It is not the Minister of Tourism, as he is all for what is in the letter. It needs to go to the incompetent, i mean competent authority and the minister of health. They are the two who need to get a clue and get on board with the tourism minister.

On Health visas are stopping travellers

*“What I can tell you is that we had a few of those that we know were domestic related where the fellas are weak and they killed themselves because they were having issues with their females.*

*“I could leave that right there because to go further than that would require more research.”*

I am sorry, put this Commissioner a serious half hip. So a man commits suicide and what does the Commissioner say? He calls them weak. This is the same garbage that makes men keep stuff inside, because he have these idiots like the Commissioner spouting this macho garbage. Does he not know that even men have mental issues?

This foolishness in our society to try make it seem that men shouldn't cry or have issues and to keep it bottled up is what is creating some of our issues. Maybe the Commissioner before he spouts garbage, need to take a course in mental health issues.

I guess that is what you get when you put idiots in positions of power. they show their small mindedness.

Please Miller. Sit down. Last election retired you. If he gets a nomination and gets elected to the House, that will tell you a whole lot about the mentality of this country.

On Miller insists he’ll be on ballot

The audacity of the Commissioner to want people to give him credit for doing his job. Seriously? Every government pay day when you get a salary you get credit.

Agree he needs to start taking blame for when the stats go up.

I'm tried of these civil servants who have a silver spoon in their mouths.

*In spite of the reduced figures, there was a spate of killings at the end of 2020, which the police chief said could be attributed to several factors.

“These could be related to the seasonal impacts, loosening of restrictions, on lockdown and changes in police activities as more emphasis was placed on social distancing,” he said.

Responding to critics who point to COVID restrictions that kept people off the streets for long periods, the Commissioner said: “I could answer that with one word… nonsense. That’s why I provided the figures for the last ten years and if you look at those figures for the last ten years from what you’ve seen, we had a decline in crime.*

Clearly the Commissioner is speaking out of two sides of his mouth and does not even comprehend it.

HE attributes the spate of crimes at end of 2020 to loosening of lockdown restrictions. But then he says it is nonsense that the covid lockdowns had anything to do with reduction of crime.

So how can loosening the lockdown cause crime to increase, but having the lockdowns have no impact on decreasing crime?

The Commissioner sadly is very delusional if he believes the decrease is crime has nothing to do with the lockdowns.
