Why do we not have proper journalism in the Bahamas. Why does the journalists not tell us what is the requirements for forming the Police Service Commission. When was the last one formed? How often should it be formed? Was one formed under the Christie government and should still begin place?
I get sick of reporters just regurgitating a press release.
*He added, though, that the time, expense and logistical difficulty involved in mandating that tourists obtain such a test before departing for The Bahamas was viewed by the tourism industry as too difficult “an impediment to overcome” when seeking to attract business back to this nation after July 1. “The Ministry of Tourism consulted industry and it was the firm belief of The Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) that requiring a PCA molecular swab COVID-19 test was a non-starter,” Mr D’Aguilar told Tribune Business.*
And you thought slavery was over and discrimination was done. Oh well so much for that belief.
Another union leader crying. Maybe what he could get his union to do is buy a hotel and take all these ideas he has and put them in into practice in the union run hotel and when it works use it as a pattern for other hotels. Put up or shut up time!
*Asked if the PLP would remove the statue if it regains power, he said: “I can tell you this, the members of parliament for the PLP have always advocated for the removal of the statue. I have spoken to the chairman of the PLP Mr Mitchell who said I have his support on the issue so there is support on that basis and I do intend to ask a member of the minority in Parliament to bring this petition to parliament and if a member of the government believes in this cause we will accept that as well.”*
So the PLP was in power for how many years? And when did they move a petition as the government to take down the statue? And now in opposition they want to bring a petition to parliament? You cannot make up this nonsense. People cannot pay bills and over the hill dont have inside toilets and these people worrying about a darn statue.
But I have a suggestion for them. When they bring the petition to remove Columbus, make sure bring one for Victoria, and also Milo Butler too, and any other statue. .
*The library is a landmark in Freeport and has been recognised numerous times by the Smithsonian. It was originally named after Mr. John Harvard, of Harvard University, and subsequently renamed Sir Charles Hayward Library, as it was under the GBPA’s patronage.*
What have been good for the article to say why is is a landmark and what is has been recognised by the Simthsonian for?
We all know where you stand with your rose coloured PLP blindness. If Turnquest finds a way to erase the deficit, you would complain. But statistics don't lie, and he did mention in the debate that the figures presented was net and not gross.
When has the any government in the Bahamas in recent memory not spent more than it made? We have government boasting about who borrowed the least and which one adding more to the deficit. We have been broke for years. The issue of devalue is another thing. The movement tomorrow could make our dollar twice the value of the US. The devalue issue does not depend on the US and their travel so much as it depends on government policy.
