You are spot on point. What people do not realise is that is NOT the responsibility of the government to find your home after a disaster. That is YOUR responsibility as a homeowner. I don't understand what all the fuss is about. Donors pledged what they wanted to give. The government cannot force a donor to give something particular. They ought to be happy that in light of the volcano eruption in the Philippines and the earthquakes in Puerto Rico and the attacks in Yemen that people even pledged to give $1 to the Bahamas.

$500 million really going to residents? Seriously? The majority of that is going to business, and not residents, and the majority of residents were not insured. But there again, people like to spew whatever comes to their mouths to try make things look better than it really is.

Most people only read the headlines in the papers and never took time to read the fine print in the article. If people had read the article they would have seen P3 was offering a loan. And also as was previously remarked, you have the option to accept or not accept the pledge. Besides, people may pledge and then choose not to deliver. So why all the noise in the market? Crazy

A leader? What new initiative has she produced without other peoples money? What initiative in education has she created and implemented? Just talking in a mic and making noise so other people can give people who pay you dues salary increases is not a leader. Maybe mafia tactics, but not leadership. When you can run a company and build it with your own money and have it function and development an educational system like Finland, then talk about leader.

they should nationalise it like Venezuela and Zimbabwe?

moncurcool says...

Ha. Jokes abound. Besides anyone can get in front of a mic and talk with no one to challenge their claims.

There are no students in Abaco who want to go to school and transportation is not available. That is a lie. Presently they are doing that. So those not riding the bus just don't want to go.

The media really needs to challenge and investigate these statements rather than just printing whatever nonsense comes out of the mouths of these union leaders.

A referendum for what? Either the opposition will use it to play politics, or the vote of the people will be ignored. Until our politicians mature, we don't need to waste money on another referendum.

moncurcool says...

That tells you 2 people making noise over being charge fees, and look how we listening to the noise in the market while the vast majority of Bahamians are sensible to prepare before so not to pay the fee, and yet that is being ignored. Guess we just like drama.

If you don't want to pay the fe, then get your reusable bag or get brown paper bags to bring. I find it sad that we try to make an excuse for people who knew well in advance what was happening. Another example of how we like to blame the government for our own lack of change.
