Could not agree more.

So are we saying people should do business for free? I agree the insurance company should take their losses, but are they to provide services for all customers and they have no obligation to pay for those services? Note, if the government can do this to the insurance company, how soon can they do it to us and say they will not provide light, or water, but we must still pay the bill. Would we be okay with that?

I honestly don't understand this situation. How can you tell a company pay claims and tell the claimants don't pay any of your premiums? Guess next they will order landlords not to charge rent and people live rent free?
.
Each action has a consequence. If the government wants to be brave, then go after the predatory banking industry. Place an order that banks still provide mortgage coverage, but charge no interest for the next 60 day and people don't have to pay mortgage.

Picture shows why all the emergency orders being imposed is crap. You make the law and then don't follow it. This can't be for real. How can you get mad at citizens for not following the orders when the people who bringing them believe they are above the orders.

Tribune: you need to raise this issue immediately at the next press conference. This smacks of disrespect and law breaking towards every Bahamian who is told to be locked down and stay home.

Oh please. Let's stop looking through the political lenses.

It bothers me the statements that some politicians make at times. You shut down the country and then have the audacity to tell landlords they need to take a hit. The government needs to show they take a hit and downsize and stop spending. When they show they willing to do that then others would be willing to take a hit likewise.
.
I agree this is going to be a long recovery road for all, but, Leaders must always lead by example, not by just talk. Besides, if they want landlords to take a hit, they need to tell the banks to take a hit and stop charging interest on portages now.

The only branch they have in Freeport and they close it. Seriously? Hope that they close at the same time charging interest to your mortgage.

I don't blame the Bahamians there. Right after the storm I was there when the local residents warned the authorities about what was happening and asked them to relate to the matter. What is happening there is all on the authorities.

We are not dealing with a liquor store. We are dealing with an emergency order just thrown out in Parliament for what, one week because the government feel that they need to curtail the movement of people? So they say you can only shop certain days? That is totally against our constitution on the freedom of movement. Period.
.
However, if the government wants people to only go out certain days, with emergency orders, it is then up to them to enforce that and be the check and balance. That is not the duty of the owner.
